What is considered high odometer mileage on a 50cc scooter?

I’m considering the purchase of a 2005 Yamaha Zuma scooter with 6000 miles for $ 500. Is this a lot of miles? How far can you drive one of these before major maintenance issues come up?

Typically a well maintained 2 stroke, that hasn’t been run w/o 2stroke oil, is good for about 30,000 miles. Given that it’s a Yamaha, probably a few more over that.
$ 500 is a steal if it hasn’t been beat to hell.

ruckus scooter question by Alex: how do you take the governor/restricter off of a 2009 honda ruckus 50cc scooter?
i just got a 2009 honda ruckus and i want to make it go faster. i hear by taking out the governor it will go faster and get better acceleration. but will this do any damage to my engine or make it get less gas mileage? also, what aftermarket parts might be good to put on it? any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks
oh and PLEASE don’t tell me to buy a bigger bike. i asked you to tell me what i can do to the bike and how to take the restrictor off. i don’t have the money for a motorcycle or the classes needed to get my motorcycle license.

It will make it go faster … straight to the junk yard, just slightly faster than normal.
